PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder that can accurately calculate an amount of shifted angle of a recording head based on a mutual relationship of test patterns even when the test pattern is contaminated, dust is stuck to the test pattern, or a trouble such as a broken nozzle, position shift in deposition or the like occurs. SOLUTION: This image recorder 100 comprises a recording means for recording a pair of test patterns 312, 314 on a recording medium 192, a reading means for reading the pair of test patterns 312, 314 recorded by the recording means 192, and a calculating section 176 as a calculating means for calculating an amount of relative recorded position shift between the pair of test patterns 312, 314 based on density data of the pair of test patterns 312, 314 read by the reading means. The calculating means calculates the amount of relative recorded position shift of the pair of test patterns 312, 314 based on the mutual relationship of the density data of the pair of test patterns 312, 314, and then calculates the amount of shifted angle of the recording head based on the amount of relative recorded position shift.
