<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternating-current generator for vehicle having a controller which is capable of coping with a lineup of generators of a wide variety of numbers of magnetic poles by minor modification. <P>SOLUTION: A rotation pulse signal obtained by multiplying the output voltage of an armature winding in terms of pulse is multiplied in terms of frequency, and the number of revolutions is thereby controlled.
