PURPOSE: A variable timing belt device of an engine for a vehicle is provided to variably regulate the timing for opening and closing a valve with a simplified structure and to keep the valve opening and closing timing an optimal state all the time without errors. CONSTITUTION: In an engine of a vehicle including a suction cam sprocket(12) interlocking with a suction cam; an exhaust cam sprocket(22) interlocking with an exhaust cam; a flywheel(42); a timing belt(30) connecting the suction sprocket, the exhaust cam sprocket, and the flywheel to interlock each other; and an idler(50) pressing the timing belt from the outside to make the timing belt receive tension, a variable timing belt device of the engine is composed of a pressurizing device, a pressure sensing part, and an ECU(Electronic Control Unit). The pressurizing device variably changes relative angle of the suction cam for the exhaust cam by pressurizing some portion of the timing belt connecting between the suction and exhaust cam sprockets or returning the timing belt to the original state. The pressure sensing part senses the pressure of the timing belt by the pressurizing device. The ECU computes relative angle of the suction cam for the exhaust cam by inputting revolution per minute of the engine and a function of load, controls the pressurizing device to the computed value, and corrects pressure of the pressurizing device.
