<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element that can be manufactured inexpensively is low in series resistance, and can obtain sufficient luminous efficiency of radiation at a low voltage, though the element has a thick current diffusing layer. <P>SOLUTION: In this light emitting element 100, a light emitting layer section 24 composed of a compound semiconductor is laminated on one main surface of a transparent conductive semiconductor substrate 7 through a conductive oxide layer 10 for coupling substrate composed of a conductive oxide. In addition, a contact layer 30 is used for reducing the junction resistance of the conductive oxide layer 10, and is arranged between the light emitting layer 24 and oxide layer 10 so that the layer 30 may come into contact with the oxide layer 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
