PURPOSE: A phosphor cleaning method is provided to achieve improved luminous efficiency of a phosphor by removing organic substances from the phosphor after deposition of the phosphor on an anode. CONSTITUTION: A phosphor cleaning method comprises a step of evaporating organic substances from a phosphor by heating the phosphor; and a step of removing the residual organic substances from the phosphor, by sputtering a surface of the phosphor through the use of argon ion in a vacuum chamber. The organic substances include isopropyl alcohol as an organic solvent.
