METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING MICROCAPSULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently manufacturing a high-quality microcapsule which has a narrow particle size distribution in the method for manufacturing the microcapsule having a urea resin or urea/urethane resin film by means of the interfacial polymerization method by dispersing a hydrophobic core material including polyisocyanate compound into an alkaline aqueous solution of isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer as a dispersant.

SOLUTION: The microcapsule for recording material having a narrow particle size distribution, little coloring stain and excellent sensitivity can be obtained by manufacturing the microcapsule under the following conditions; alkali amount in the aqueous medium in an emulsifying dispersion process is an amount corresponding to the degree of neutralization 0.2-0.4 for the amount of theoretical carboxylic acid produced by complete hydrolysis of isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer and the concentration of the isobutylene-maleic anhydride copolymer in the aqueous medium is 0.5-4 wt.%.
