PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a functional material having gradient thermal expansion coefficient by using materials each having controllable thermal expansion coefficient which has been difficult until now and laminating the materials.

SOLUTION: The material having gradient thermal expansion coefficient is obtained by selecting a material having positive thermal expansion coefficient and a material having negative thermal expansion coefficient and combining or simultaneously firing the materials.
