The invention relates to an automatized process for making a clothing or footwear item for atypical sized persons that do not fit within standard size databases. According to the invention, the process comprises the following stages: a. scanning the client's body using a 3D digital scanning system, following which a very accurate virtual mould (MV) thereof is obtained, the mould taking over all atypical sizes which do not fit within databases for standard body sizes, then transferring the virtual mould (MV) to specialized software wherefrom the 2D digital patterns which better match the client's body sizes are selected and converted into 3D patterns which are modified depending on the particulars of the virtual mould (MV) created, then converted into customized 2D patterns to be sent to the production department; b. the next stage comprises the conversion of the virtual mould (MV) into a physical mould (MF) at the scale 1:1, which uses either CNC routers, or 3D printers or other devices able to generate a physical object at the scale 1:1; and c. the stage of manual or automatic cutting of material using the 2D patterns modified according to the virtual mould (MV), followed by assembling the so-cut parts, making the finished product and trying it on the physical mould (MF), and by the operations of finishing, packaging and delivery, where the virtual mould (MV) can also be made using the direct scanning made by the client who subsequently sends it online to the producer. |
