<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To start an internal combustion engine, as the shift position is set in the parking position. <P>SOLUTION: When an engine start instruction is given as the shift position SP is set in the parking position, a reverse position is set for a control shift S*, and a transmission is controlled in such a way that the transmission makes a state corresponding to the control shift S* (S200, S210). As the transmission is set in the reverse state, with an input shaft of the transmission connected to a drive shaft that is connected to a drive wheel, the engine is run by a motor MG1 to start (S220-S280).
