<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polarization transducer element having good transmission properties of light beams. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of masking tapes 40 are pasted on the regions different from the λ/2 retardation plate fixing regions 5' to which a plurality of λ/2 retardation plates 5 are pasted in the light-emitting faces of a PBS (Polarization Beam Splitter) 4, i.e., on the light-emitting faces of a plurality of the second translucent members 24. The masking tapes 40 are pasted so as to cover at least the transmission regions of light among the light-emitting faces of the second translucent members 24, and also so as not to be applied to the λ/2 retardation plate fixing regions 5' among the light-emitting faces of the first translucent members 14. Next, the λ/2 retardation plate fixing regions 5' are coated with optical adhesives. Then, the λ/2 retardation plates 5 are positioned and temporarily fixed to the λ/2 retardation plate fixing regions 5 of the PBS 4. Next, the adhesives are cured so as to fix the λ/2 retardation plates 5'. Then, the masking tapes 40 are peeled so as to obtain a polarization transducer element in which a plurality of the λ/2 retardation plates 5 are selectively fixed to a part of the light-emitting faces of the PBS 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
