<p>Special tanning for sheepskins, to give strength and flexibility to low quality skins, contains sulphited oil, Al sulphate, Mg silicate, pref. made into an emulsion contg. 18% of ammoniacal spermaceti oil, 5% of Mg silicate, 0.1% of Na silicate and 2% of formaldehyde. After the normal pickling, the skinis soaked in the emulsion for 24hrs. and then 10% of Al sulphate is added, and in a further 24 hrs. the tanning is finished. Used for making protective gloves etc.</p> |
