摘要 <p>1360276 Copper, nickel, cobalt and molybdenum recovery KENNECOTT COPPER CORP 16 July 1971 [16 July 1970] 33603/71 Heading C1A Copper, nickel, cobalt and molybdenum values are recovered from deep-sea manganese nodules or an equivalent complex ore, by grinding the ore, reducing the ore by admixing it with a solid or liquid carbon-containing reducing agent containing 3-10 wt. per cent carbon based on the ore and roasting the mixture at at least 350‹ C., leaching the reduced ore with an aqueous ammonia solution containing an ammonium salt to obtain a leachate containing copper, nickel, cobalt or molybdenum values and separating the leachate from the ore residue. The roasting temperature may be from 350‹ C. to 1000‹ C. The examples describe the use of anthracite, bituminous coal, crank-case oil, crude oil and bunker C fuel oil as carbon-containing reducing agent, the use of leaching solutions of ammonium carbonate in aqueous ammonia, the leaching in some examples being carried out sequentially in the absence of air and in the presence thereof and give particle size details for the manganese nodules used. Other carboncontaining reducing agents specified include carbon, charcoal, coke, pitch, petroleum coke and cellulose. Other ammonium salts include ammonium chloride and ammonium sulphate.</p>
