1374406 Derivatives of 2-piperidinomethylbenzimidazole DELALANDE SA 28 June 1973 [6 July 1972] 30849/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein Ar is Ph (optionally substituted by a halogen atom, or by 1-2 Me or 1 or more C 1 -C 4 alkoxy groups), and a process for making them by reacting in an aqueous alcoholicmedium 2. - (4 - cinnamylpiperidinomethyl) benzimidazole with the HCl salt of the 1-(2- aroylethyl)piperidine. Therapeutic compositions for oral administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which have analgesic, vasodilatory, hypotensive, anticholinergic, spasmolytic, atropinic, gastric antisecretory, antiulcerous and diuretic activity.
