<p>Ferrocene derivs of formula (I) a d their salts are new: (where R is thienyl, 4-7C cycloalkyl, 1-6C alkyl (opt. substd. by 1 or more OH gps.), CH2COOH (or a 1-6c alkyl ester or 0-6C amide thereof), or phenyl opt. substd. by 1-5 gps. selected from halogen, 1-8C alkyl, COOH, 2-11c alkoxycarbonyl, 1-7C carbamoyl, 1-8C alkoxy, OH, 1-10C alkanoyl, trihalomethyl, 1-8C alkylsulphinyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl, benzoyl or amino, or phenyl substd. in adjacent posns. by a tri- or tetramethylene gp.; n = 0, 1 or 2; R' is H, phenyl, 1-6C alkyl, 4-6C cycloalkyl or 5-8C alkylcycloalkyl, x = 0-8; y = 0-5). Cpds. (I) are useful as haematinic agents for treating iron deficiency in humans and animals.</p> |
