<p>The standard free wheel roller cage is manufactured by a pressing operation and normally has an axially central roller location band (2) with a larger diameter internal bearing seating (4) at the open-end and a smaller diameter seating (3) at the other, internally flanged, end. The second, smaller seating is sometimes required to be identical to the larger and this is done by inserting the cage in a cylindrical die (the smaller bearing seating outside diameter is also reduced) and applying internal pressure to the smaller seating. This may be done by a deformable rubber pad, compressed by a piston, or by an eccentric roller.</p> |
