A typical multiple rim (10) consists of a rim base (11) which receives twin pneumatic tyres. The rim is a single cylinder with a constant width with recesses (12), (13) to house seals and a removable fixing ring (14). The tyres seat on movable coned rings (15), the interior diameters of which are slightly greater than the external diameter (D) of the base of the rim (11). Axially, seating of the tyres is given by annular, removable parts (16). The construction is light in weight and easily manufactured and assembled. It gives, in addition an extremely strong assembly to take heavy loads and tractive forces. |
