<p>The powered mine support is composed of adjoining shields with shifting cylinders incorporated in channels in the floor bar so that the piston rod ends are carried in a crossbar, positively guided in the channel in association with rods either side for conjoint action on, or reaction from, the face conveyor. In the floor bar channel (31) below the shifting cylinder proper (42) there is a fine coal clearance pusher (69) about as wide as the channel itself. The pusher may be designed as a plate (69) which rests on the channel floor and is secured to the ends of two parallel pushers rods (72, 73) which are mounted at the waste end on the crossbar (53). The waste side ends of the rods can otherwise be mounted on a crossbar which has eyelets for a connecting bolt linking the piston rod end (44) to its crossbar (43).</p> |
