The insulation stripper and wire twister has a driven member, the jaws of which have an insulation stripping blade and a clamp gripping the Litz wires to be twisted. The driven head is mounted on an axially movable carriage and the core gripping clamp with a cutting device can move axially w.r.t. the insulation strippling and twisting head. The driven head incorporates a braking arrangement, with a spindle lever and brake cylinder. The wire gripping device is restrained by a ball bearing housing.
