The clamping cylinder consists of a stepped piston (5) which is mounted in bush with stepped bore. The bush has a rim (26, 27) at each end which is partly machined away, so that two protrusions remain. The bush can be clamped with either end to a work table by means of clamps (29) which engage with the protrusions or by a bayonet arrangement. The piston has a plain bore at one end and a trheaded bore at the end. A stud (22) can be mounted in the plain bore, or a tension rod can be mounted in the threaded bore. Hydraulic fluid under pressure is admitted under the step in the piston, which can either push against a part to be clamped, or exert a pulling force on it.
|
