<p>1467466 Vaccuum filled liquid tanks DAVOL Inc 14 May 1974 [17 May 1973] 21356/74 Heading FIR [Also in Division F2] In a vacuum filled liquid tank the suction port 28 in the lid 12 is closed by a float valve 32 when the liquid reaches a given level. The float valve comprises a cup shaped member 44 having at least one surface which seals the outlet port. This surface comprises either the rim of the cup which engages the lid around the inlet port or the base of the cup which engages the port itself or both these surfaces, in which case the base is flexible and after the rim has sealed on the lid, the base is drawn into sealing engagement with the port. The cup is attached to the lid by a flexible arm 36. A flange 42 is provided on the cup to prevent liquid splashing into the cup and to assist-lift with a foam covered liquid.</p> |
