<p>The heat-insulting metal batten is for use with window or door frames, and is made up from two shaped batten units joined together with an intervening insulating layer, one being a C-sectioned part deformed about a T-shaped part on the other. The heat-insulating layer is assembled from rigid parts (12, 13), non-rigid parts (14, 15) in cross-section. The hard parts take on force transfer between the C-shaped component (2) and the T-shaped component (3), in one direction at least, and the soft parts fitted in the direction of tension. The heat-insulating layer may be in the form of one or more plastic strands extruded from a combination of softer and harder material.</p> |
