The multipurpose shears have cutters whose chamfered edges reach in the cutting plane at an acute angle. The cutting angle delta of the cutting edge (3) is larger closer to the blade pivoted joint (4) than at the free end of the blade which tapers towards the free end. This cutting angle delta on a shear blade (2) is ground in helical pattern on the cutting edge starting from the pivoting joint (4) and this angle becomes smaller towards the tip. This cutting angle can be made smaller also in steps. Both cutter blades can have similar cutting edges or only one blade has this particular shape of cutting edge. The variable cutting angle ensures that for example paper can be cut by cutter tips and wire can be cut near pivot. |
