A hinged brake arm (1) has the function of stopping a ski that becomes detached from the ski boot. The fixing pivot (8) is located in the side face of the ski, near the ski binding. Under normal conditions, the ski boot holds the swivel arm (1) parallel with the ski so that no obstruction occurs. When the ski is loose, an enclosed steel ball inside the hollow arm (1) ensures that the arm pivots in such a way that the end of the arm digs into the snow. Both ends of the brake arm have cavities (2) which improve the braking action on hard snow or ice.
|
