In the production of magnetic bubble domain chips a thin film of bubble domain material is grown on a substrate which is a disc composed of a rare earth metal-Ga-garnet single crystal (RGG) with (111) face and provided with patterned conductor element units of rectangular or parallelogram shape of which at least one edge lies in the direction within 5 degrees of the right angle to the direction 112 , 121 , or 211 of the substrate. The units are marked on the substrate by using a diamond so that the markings run parallel to the respective edges of units or chips, which are then sepd. from the substrate. The method gives a higher yield of chips as they are sepd. easily without serrated edges, and gives longer diamond tool life.
|
