Each element (7a, 7b) of the roller shutter is made from plastic and has its long sides formed as hooked flanges; these assemble to adjacent elements to make an articulated joint. The element strips are placed upside down on a flat surface, in the assembled condition, and holes are drilled into the hooked portion (13) of the innermost flange (9a). Both strips are then placed on a surface (1) having one side (2) angled, tilting one strip and opening the underside of the joint. A pin (11) is inserted perpendicular to the joint, one end being fixed into the drilled hole to form a freely articulated joint.
