<p>The explosive shell has a nose cone with a fuse which includes a striker pin (2) mounted on the tip (1) agains which a fuse carrier (P) is forced. This carrier has a cup member (4) supporting a tube (6) with the ignition charge (5) mounted on it, acting as a channel to guide its combustion gases towards a delay charge (12) and a detonator (13). This carrier is locked in an inoperative position by a set of blocks (18) which are thrown outwards by centrifugal force, combined with axial plungers (21) so that the carrier is released by centrifugal and inertial forces. Pegs (20) extending from the blocks (18) retain a shouldered member (8) around the tip of the tube (6) in the inoperative position.</p> |
