Tunable X=band radar oscillator - has varactor and Gunn diodes in identical holders in standard flanged rectangular waveguide

The tunable X-band oscillator consists of a Gunn diode in a resonator and a varactor tuning diode in the same resonator and a varactor tuning diode in the same resonator. The resonator consists of a standard-size rectangular waveguide with flange. A step transformer is used for matching. The varactor and Gunn diodes are mounted in identical holders: each isolated from one broad face of the guide by insulating collars around their mounting screws and in electrical contact with the other broad face. The oscillator uses standard components.
