<p>The composite insulating floor slab is of in situ reinforced concrete (1) which is placed on permanent shutter panels (2) of materials with insulating properties. The shutter panels (2) comprise a layer of timber fibre (3) on a layer of cellular plastic (4). The fibre (3) layer bonds directly to the in situ concrete (1) and the system requires nominal propoing whilst obviating temporary shutters. The edges of the panels may be joined by tongue and grooving or similar, and props (5) may be located under panel joints. Doubly hooked shear connectors (6) ensuring composite action may also be located at the panel joints.</p> |
