Cooperating printing cylinders supported in bearing blocks - are separated by spacer plate and pressed together by hydraulic ram

A printing machine is used which has a forme cylinder and a cooperating impression cylinder supported for rotation in bearing blocks separated by a spacer plate. The block supporting the forme cylinder is pressed against the spacer plate and the other block by a hydraulic ram. The ram pref. acts through a spring. The spacer plate has the thickness required to ensure the nominal centre distance between the two cylinders. Fine adjustment is provided by eccentrics which contain the respective cylinder bearings.
