Sensors for measuring efficiency of catalytic waste gas converter - having solid electrolyte with two electrodes mounted before and after catalyst bed

Sensors are for monitoring the action of catalytic exhaust gas convertors. At least one sensor consists of two electrodes with a solid electrolyte between. At least one is separated from the gas stream by means of a gas diffusion zone. One of the electrolytes used can be catalytically active. The sensor consists of a hollow body formed from a solid electrolyte: Inside this is mounted a common counted-electrode for both sensors. The secondary electrodes are separated from this electrode by a layer of insulation. Used for checking the effectiveness of catalytic purifiers on the exhaust gas from i.e. engines.
