The locking element, radially movable, in the drill chuck for holding a rock drill, on a rotating percussion drilling machine, are each held in an axial guide groove partly in the shaft and partly in the chuck. There is also a carrier groove, open to the shaft end, with flat flanks engaged by an inward-protruding carrier bar. The locking elements are cylindrical rollers (8). The leading flank (4) of the carrier groove (3) runs radially, and the second (5) tangentially. The radial depth of this groove (T1) is between one-tenth and one-seventh of the drill shaft diameter. The radial flank may be slightly inclined opening outward. The drill shaft is easily inserted in the chuck, both being less subject to damage and standing up to prolonged use.
|
