The improved seal for a car door has a simple moulding with a central cavity (13) selectively linked to the engine vacuum system and with inner and outer flanges (8, 9) whose lips are laid against the two sides of the door when the vacuum is applied. The strip is clipped to the door frame by elastic studs moulded into the strip. The outer flange (9) is at right angles to the door when the vacuum is not applied, and serves as a rain gutter, while allowing unimpeded movement of the door.
