<p>Prod. for consolidating and impermeabilising materials or rocks, which can be used esp. as an additive to cement, comprises >=1 alkali carbonate and a sulphate. The pref. carbonate is Na carbonate and the pref. sulphate Al sulphate. Colloids, pref. a siliceous colloid, may also be added. Prod. is dissolved in water in a proportion of 0.1-10% (0.5-3%). When used as cement additive, this soln. is used as making up water. Used to preserve natural rocks and artificial rock like surfaces, e.g. concrete by preventing penetration of moisture. The more porous and permeable the original rock the more impermeable and better protected does it become after treatment.</p> |
