PURPOSE:To facilitate the remote control of a storage battery, by causing a metal member, whose kydrogen or oxygen overvoltage is smaller than that of a fixed electrode, to be temporally contacted with the fixed electrode by means of a float to convert the specific gravity of the electrolyte into an electric signal. CONSTITUTION:A float 2 functions in the state in which a current is flowing in the direction that hydrogen is produced at the fixed electrode 1 so that when a platinum needle 3, whose hydrogen evervoltage relative to the electrolyte is minimal among other materials, is temporally contacted with the electrode 1, the potential of the electrode is changed. This device is equipped at the liquid injecting aperture on the positive side of the battery 8, and a current is supplied to the electrode 1 through a resistor 9 to produce hydrogen. The occurring potential change is amplified by a transistor Tr10, while a Tr14 effects switching and Tr16 effects turning on and off of a lamp 17. Thus, when the specific gravity is lowered, an specific gravity lowering alarm is provided by the turning on of the lamp, and when the liquid level is lowered below the lower end of the electrode, a liquid level alarm can be provided by detecting the current interruption thereby, so that the storage battery can easily be remote controlled. |
