The motor casing (1) has a volute cross section cylinder, within which a rotor (2) touches the volute at its narrowest point and carries vanes (6, 7) which slide radially in slots in the rotor. The end of each vane, nearest the narrowest part of the volute, lies inside the rotor and the opposite end touches the cylinder. Water entering through an inlet port (14) presses on the vanes and thus turns the rotor, and leaves through a discharge port (5). The ends (9) of the vanes are turned to face upstream. As they pass the outlet port the water pressure on the downstream side pushes them into the rotor.
|
