Vertical venetian blinds - with heat insulating and light reflecting layers on one side of lamellae and blackened on other

Vertical Venetian blinds for windows consist of hollow lamellae, for example made of aluminium sheet, with alternate convex and concave sides. One side of each lamella is made heat insulating by a bonded layer of a plastic material, pref. expanded styrene (STYROPOR RTM). In addn. that side is made light reflective by a polished strip of aluminium foil. The opposite sides of the lamellae are blackened. Such a blind can be used in summer as a cooling device, and in winter, in a 180 degrees reversed position, as a warming device through perforations in the lamellae.
