<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to record the head positioning signal onto the magnetic material coated layer of a magnetic tape, by using a double-gap full-width signal erasing magnetic head. CONSTITUTION:Head positioning signal 7 is recorded through full width of magnetic material coated layer 1a of magnetic tape 1; and since the frequency of control signal 5a recorded on control track 5 and the frequency of head positioning signal 7 are made different from each other, head positioning signal 7 can be repeoduced by the magnetic head which records and reproduces control signal 5a. Since sound signals recorded on the first and the second audio tracks 4a and 4b are frequency- modulated, head positioning signal 7 does not impede reproducing of this sound signal. Further, when the video signal recorded on video track 6 is reproduced, head positioning signal 7 can be prevented from impeding this reproducing by utilizing difference between the magnetization direction of the video signal and the magnetization direction of head positioning signal 7.</p> |
