A heat-insulated kettle comprises a shell which, with the exception of the bottom wall, has a double-wall heat-shielding structure. The double-wall structure has a lower section which is separated from the shell to form a special rim. In its interior, the double-wall structure may have a vacuum, but may also be filled with heat-shielding material. With this kettle, in particular a kettle for boiling water, it is intended that water may be heated in an energy-saving manner. <IMAGE>
