The invention relates to a large sprung wheel for axle drives, in particular for electrical locomotives, having a driver hub, which can be plugged into the edge area of the large wheel, for power transmission, the drivers of which are arranged in a rotationally elastic fashion between the large wheel and supported spring elements. In order to be able to produce large sprung wheels in a complete design more simply and cost-effectively and at the same time to permit a direct simple connection of articulation lever couplings, it is proposed according to the invention to provide the large wheel with a completely enclosed disc hub (5). The latter bears on one side a circumferential annular groove (7) which has axially protruding drivers (9) distributed over the circumference from the base (8) of the groove, a corresponding, slidingly rotatable driver ring (10) is inserted into the annular groove (7) and the driver ring (10) has a number of oblong hole openings (11) corresponding to the number of drivers, which openings (11) extend in a circular arc shape and through which openings (11) the drivers (9) engage and permit a controlled pivot region. In each case, spring elements (14) are inserted between each driver (9) and the two lateral limits (12, 13) of the associated oblong hole opening (11). <IMAGE>
