The invention relates to a plate and joint system for a Faraday cage, which can be dismantled, for screening against electromagnetic fields. Metal plates having a zinc-coated side and a copper-coated side are used for this purpose and are screwed together using rails. In this case, surfaces of the same material are pressed against one another so that contact is made without any gaps, without any resilient or other sealing means, which contact is maintained after dismantling and reassembly, this being of major importance with respect to the contact resistance when screening against electromagnetic fields.
