In order to allow delivery and thereby above all metered delivery of mustard, ketchup and similar substances from a container (10) which has a delivery pipe (15) which projects freely downwards, is arranged at the bottom of the container, and opens out into an outlet opening (17), a non-return valve is arranged in the region of the connection point between the pipe mentioned and the container. The cross-section of the outlet pipe corresponds approximately to the cross-section of the outlet opening in the container, and the non-return valve has a spherical element (19). Elements (21, 24) are provided in order to prevent the spherical element from sinking inside the pipe. The spacing between the spherical element (valve body) and the lower end of the pipe is sufficiently large to enable the pipe to be gripped by one hand and squeezed without impairing the valve body. A valve seat (18, 27) is provided, against which the valve body (19) can come to rest from below. <IMAGE>
