The circuit includes a fly-back type transformer having a primary winding connected to a controlled waveform generator providing the variable pulse-width periodic waveform. The voltage across a secondary winding of the transformer is rectified to provide a unipolar D.C. analog voltage to a load. In another embodiment an optoelectronic isolator receives the controlled waveform generator output to control the resistance between a source of operating potential and a filter capacitor. A D.C. analog voltage appears across the capacitor with magnitude responsive to the duty cycle of the variable pulse-width-modulated signal. For noise-rejection purposes a pulse-width-modulated signal is used for transmission of load control information, via a medium (25), between a central facility (30) and each control circuit-ballast-lamp combination.
