Provided is an electric brake system that, in performing wheel speed control such as braking force control and anti-lock control, has a simple wiring structure, allows for a short power line, is cost-effective, makes it possible to lengthen the communication period for a command to an electric brake control device, and enables a reduction in the cost of a communication means and an improvement in reliability. A brake integrated control means (7) generates, as target values, a target wheel speed equivalent value and a target braking force for each electric brake device (3), and transmits said values to a target value transmission means (10). An electric brake control device (5) of each electric brake device (3) has a braking force controller (33) that controls an electric motor (11) in accordance with the target braking force, a wheel speed controller (34) that controls the electric motor (11) in accordance with the target wheel speed equivalent value, and a control switching means (35). The control switching means (35) switches between use of the braking force controller (33) and the wheel speed controller (34) in accordance with a prescribed condition. |
