The subject of the invention relates to a type of tachometer for any floating vehicle. It is intended to allow measurement of the speed over the water of any floating craft and consists of a simplified apparatus which nevertheless has high precision, is self-contained and has its own fastening and pick-up system, it being possible to incorporate it either initially, or as a removable accessory, and it is consequently particularly well suited to beach vehicles: sailboards, inflatables, light drifters, etc. It is designed such that all the elements which it comprises may be made of injected plastic thus allowing mass-production. <IMAGE>
