Novel optical recording element polymer was prepd. by condn. of aromatic polyamine or its salt with at least 1 mol. eq. of dicarbonyl compd. (I) in the presence of strong acid e.g. perchloric acid, fluorosulfonic acid etc.. R1 and R5 are selected from H, Cl-4 alkyl, phenyl, C7-12alkaryl independently; when R1 and R5 are C2-5alkylene, then form a ring; R2, R3 and R4 are selected from H, C1-3 alkyl, halogen indepenently; x=0 or 1-3 integer. Rxn. solvent is selected from DMF, dimethylacetamide, dimethylsulfoxide. At least 1 mole of strong acid is added by mole to aromatic polyamine. |
