The invention consists of installing a waste water treatment plant in a shaft. The unit components of the waste water treatment plant, such as water-dredged sand tank, digestion chamber, aerobic reactor and flotation silt separator, are installed vertically in the shaft. The waste waters flowing through are subjected to a mechanical and biological purification. However, the water-dredged sand is hydraulically transported under water pressure to pack the stoped-out mining excavations.
