PURPOSE:To obtain a resin compsn. having excellent moldability, excellent appearance when formed into a shaped article, and high heat deformation temp., by compounding a powdery polyphenylene sulfide resin rendered infusible by oxidation with a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:5-100pts.wt., powdery polyphenylene sulfide resin rendered infusible by oxidation is compounded with 100pts.wt. thermoplastic resin to thereby obtain a resin compsn. Esp. pref. examples of the thermoplastic resin are polyphenylene sulfide, polyamide, polyester, polyether sulfone, polyacetal and polycarbonate. The above powdery polyphenylene sulfide resin is compounded in an amt. of 5-100pts.wt., pref. 10-70pts.wt., per 100pts.wt. thermoplastic resin. When its amt. is less than 5pts.wt., the heat resistance of the compsn. is insufficient although the compsn. has excellent moldability and excellent appearance when formed into a shaped article. On the other hand, when its amt. exceeds 100pts.wt., the compsn. exhibits extremely lowered moldability and mechanical strengths, esp. impact strength.
