A water-soluble monoazo cpd. of formula (I) is prepd. by coupling a diazonium cpd. of amine of formula (II) with a pyridone cpd. of formula (III). In the formulas, R1 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or Cl; R2 is H, lower alkyl or alkoxy; R3 is lower alkyl; R is H, carbamoyl, cyano or sulpho; D is meta- or paraphenylene; X is Cl or F; Y is vinyl or ethyl. (I) are used as dyestuffs for cotton or polyamide fiber. |
