The fertiliser for controlling the death of plants contains pulverulent calcium sulphate dihydrate, pulverulent dolomite, pulverulent soda, pulverulent borax and pulverulent citric acid and is brought into a storage-stable form which can be handled with greater ease without adversely affecting the availability of the components, by existing in the form of ground briquettes of sieve fraction 0.1 to 5 mm, the briquettes having been prepared from a homogeneous mixture of the dry components, of which the calcium sulphate is in the form of a finely-divided natural gypsum or gypsum from flue gas, where no particle is greater than 500 mu m and where the water content is not more than 10% by weight, but preferably only 0 to 3% by weight.
