PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder and the like which maintain the excellent operability of a guide member and suppress skew of a conveyed sheet.SOLUTION: A sheet feeder 5 of the present invention comprises: a manual insertion tray 30 on which a sheet S is placed; a guide member 31 which is provided so as to be movable in the width direction of the sheet S orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the sheet S in the manual insertion tray 30; and a lock member 32 which is provided so as to be engaged with the guide member 31 in the manual insertion tray 30. The manual insertion tray 30 includes a lift plate 36 which is provided so as to be movable between the conveyance position P1 for conveying the sheet S and a retreat position P2 for stopping conveyance of the sheet S. The lock member 32 regulates movement of the guide member 31 by engaging with the guide member 31 in the state where the lift plate 36 is moved to the conveyance position P1, and permits movement of the guide member 31 by disengaging from the guide member 31 in the state where the lift plate 36 is moved to the retreat position P2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
